4 Online Marketing Strategies to Make Your Brand Sparkle Like a Diamond

I’m sure many of you will have heard of the 4 Cs of Diamond grading, Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat, well just like with Diamonds, there are 4 Cs that can be applied to your online marketing strategies: Clarity, Consistency, Continuity and Creativity.

If you want to ensure that your online marketing strategies are of “Diamond”quality, then this is what you need to follow.

Clarity.

online marketing strategiesEvery day millions of new articles are uploaded on to the internet, with every article being uploaded for the exact same reason: to be read. In order to stand out amongst the millions of other options out there you need to make your point as clearly and concisely as possible. I’ve mentioned in a previous post that the average time someone takes to decided whether or not to stay on a page is 8 seconds, so you need to make sure that you get your point across in 8 seconds worth of time.

When starting a new blog post decide what point you want it to make and stick to it. Don’t try to give too much information as you may end up confusing people, or alienating some readers who were only interested in the first point. Instead, if you find yourself veering off your original point, make the article into 2 articles, if people are interested in both topics they can click between them. If there are two groups of interested people, then congratulations, you have found yourself some extra readers.

Once you have your readers’ attention, what do you want to do with it? Do you want them to sign up for a newsletter, phone you, leave a comment or send a tweet? Don’t assume that it will be obvious to them! If you want your readers to take action then give them a reason to take action and give them an action to take.

Consistency

online marketing strategiesConsistency across all different media that you use is very important. It allows users to recognise you and your brand whether they follow you on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or directly on your blog.

Likewise, make sure that your online marketing strategies result in you putting out a consistent message across all the sites that you use. Many users will follow you across a few different mediums, for example your blog readers may also be Facebook fans, as it allows them to get a more complete picture of who and your brand are. If you build up a credible Blog site, then allow Facebook and Twitter followers to see pictures from your last night out then you can undo all your hard work on building your reputation in one go.

Having a consistent message also allows your followers to become loyal. They can see and have access to your brand across arrange of sites. If it takes 7or 8 interactions with a brand before someone buys, then the more people see your brand online, then you are increasing the likelihood that someone will buy from you and not your competitor.

Continuity

online marketing strategiesUpdating your blog site once in a blue moon will not win you any followers. People like to revisit sites that they know are updated regularly with great content. If you have had great feedback and loads of readers, then fantastic, but unless you continue to update your site then those readers will very quickly move on to somewhere else.

The same is true for Social Media. You have to stay social, make the effort to talk to people, start conversations and join in other people’s conversations. If you only update your Facebook status once a month and do nothing else, don’t be surprised if no-one comments!

It can sometimes take years to build up a reputable brand name; don’t give up if your efforts aren’t immediately rewarded. Remember that the continuity of your message is all important and keep going!

Creativity

online marketing strategiesIn order to be a success, your online marketing strategies need to capture people’s imagination as well as their attention. Even the most boring of products can be made to seem interesting with the right marketing behind them. Think about how you can best highlight your products and brand to your audience, is it through blogging, competitions, photographs or something else?

How can you then get that message out to the public? Make your pages eye catching, individual and most importantly unique! Take inspiration from other websites, or people you’ve seen on Social media who have lots of followers. How have they achieved it, and what keeps people coming back for more?

If your Online Marketing Strategies follow the 4 Cs you will find that you will increase your brand’s reputation and visibility and in the process draw in customers who you had previously thought were unreachable!
