Two of the major investments that we all make in business and in our personal lives are money and time. Everyone is familiar with the concept of investing financially. Whether it is in property, shares, or a pension you hope to be rewarded in the future when your investment gains interest. Likewise when you go to work, your time is rewarded with a salary. Not everyone manages to invest their money successfully though, and some jobs are more rewarding than others. The one way to ensure that you reap the benefits in life that you deserve is to invest in you!
Whether you are chasing a promotion, launching your own business, hoping to provide a comfortable life for your family or wishing for a dream house abroad – in order for you to get there you really need to be the best that you can be. The more time and effort we invest in our own personal development the more we will be capable of doing.
Every experience is an opportunity for learning, and personal growth can refer to almost any aspect of your life. Small investments build up over time, like compound interest, so start by trying to identify an area that you already know you would like to be better- it might be to do with work, fitness, or knowledge. Then identify a small way in which you can improve it, and you have taken your first step to invest in You!
Most people never do this. A typical person will go from one task to the next without ever taking a step back and thinking about how they could be doing those tasks better. In order to constantly improve you should be more aware of your performance. See every failure as a chance to reflect and improve yourself so that you will be better the next time. You’ll quickly find that you’ll become better equipped to deal with that situation every time it arises.
If you do own your own business or if you are an entrepreneur that’s when the investment will pay off more than ever. For example, if you are just starting up your own business and you need something doing; you could spend money to pay for someone else to do the job for you which may be a drain on your cash. Alternatively you could learn how to do that job for yourself, pick up a new skill and save yourself money in the process.
If you don’t change anything, everything will always be the same. In order to be your best you need to take every opportunity to learn and grow. As a result you’ll get better and you’ll get more from life than ever before.
The best and most important investment that you can ever make is to invest in You, and if you do it consistently your stock will always rise!

I agree with you, James. People invest in different stuff but not in themselves.
