The Internet Marketing Business Isn’t Easy!

How often do you see adverts all over the internet claiming you can earn $10 Gazillion while you sleep? Or, “How I earn 3 thousand dollars a seconds for pushing a button”, or “a no cost Business that will earn you $1 million while you sit back and your downline of thousands will be earning for you”?

OK so I am slightly exaggerating the figures here but I think you get the picture. If you don’t then let me make it a little clearer

Internet Mrketing Business

The Internet Marketing business is not a get rich quick scheme.

Yes the internet has revolutionised the way that we do business now and for years to come, but business is always business and nothing will come to you for free. The adverts that you see are designed to suck you in by telling you the end result, the Big Picture. Yes, if you work hard, get your advertising right, build your funnels correctly and most importantly, spend your budget wisely, then you may see that end result, you may even get there within a few short months, however you will not get there simply by signing up, and you will certainly not get there for free.

If you are considering setting up an internet marketing business there are some really important factors to consider, that aren’t always obvious in the adverts

Internet Marketing Business

This is a real business. It will be your business, and it is up to you to run your business and to make it profitable. There are plenty of affiliate companies, training programs, advice forums, tutorial videos and so on that you can learn from and take advantage of, but at the end of the day, non of those will automatically bring you money unless you put the effort in first.

You will have to invest. If you were setting up any other type of business, there would be initial start up costs, and the Internet Marketing Business is exactly the same. Know what your budget is, and be realistic about what you can get in return for your investment. For example, if you invest $100 and nothing else, you can’t realistically expect a return of thousands of dollars to come your way.

Many affiliate programs have different levels of investment to suit different budgets. You may also find that some of the programs ask you to pay an initial fee to sign up. This is not a scam. The initial fee, which may be $5 or $60 dollars will give you access to a huge amount of information on the business that you are considering starting or joining. It will probably give you access to people who are experienced in that business, and it will allow you to properly do your due diligence and research on that business.

Consider it as if you were going to a job interview, you’d probably spend $5-$60 on the train, or bus or parking, maybe even a new suit to go to the interview and find out more about the role.

Be prepared to only make a small amount of money in your first few months. We’ve all seen the promises of making huge amounts of money very quickly, and this does happen. However, it only happens to a small minority, and that small minority will probably have had to spend huge amounts on advertising, or will have bought a great number of business partners with them.

As I said earlier, this is a business, and in business you don’t get anything handed to you for free.

After your initial investment of buying into whichever program you choose, you then have to build up your sales pipeline. If you have worked in any kind of sales job before, you’ll know that not every person who considers buying from you will actually buy. In your first weeks, and maybe months you may only get a few small sales and it may be much longer before you make back enough to cover your initial investment and be in profit. Make sure that you are able to pay your bills in the meantime, and that you budget for the tough times, as well as just for the good times!

Don’t be Complacent. Once your business is set up and making money, and you’ve figured out how to get the most for your time and money, don’t assume it will always work. The business world is very competitive, and the Internet Marketing Business is no exception.

There are thousands of people who sign up to internet Marketing Business schemes every month, all of them believing that they can make millions online -and some of them will. You have to make sure that you are always thinking of new ways to stay ahead of the curve and stand out from the crowd.

Maybe you want to sell more products, or offer other services such as training or coaching. Maybe you’re happy with the way things are and don’t want to take on more responsibility -that’s fine as well, but in order to carry on earning money you will still have to update yourmarketing methodsso that they stay fresh and follows any new trends that come through.

Take advantage of the training sessions and updates that your affiliate program offers so you know what’s going on within the industry, and join blogs and forums to see how other Internet Marketers are making money and losing money.

Finally, believe the hype! Or at least some of it!

Internet Marketing Business

There are people making thousands of dollars while they sleep, and living lavish lifestyles through the recession. It’s up to you, and you alone to make Internet Marketing work for you, so that you can have that great lifestyle to. Just remember, that for every person who becomes a great success, there are countless others who have failed.

There are also many others who are somewhere in the middle, having a great time working from home, choosing their own hours, no boss to answer to and earning a good honest income.

Only you can decide what you will be.
