Possibly one of the most important factors in the success of your home based business is the attitude that you adopt. This post will highlight some of the various qualities that if you incorporate into your daily routine, will result in you having a positive working attitude and assist the growth of your business.
When starting a business there are thousands of things that you have to focus your time and energy on and you may therefore think that having to concentrate on developing a positive working attitude is one thing to many. Well the fact is that all you need from the beginning, to help you assimilate everything necessary for accelerating growth as your business develops, is a positive attitude.
What does having a Positive Working Attitude mean?
Being positive means many things. It is a way of life rather than something you put on and take off dependent on the occasion. It’s not on the outside it comes from the inside. It is not a mask to the real you, it is you. Amongst other things a positive attitude includes:
Being open minded -if you always do a task the same way the chances are you will get the same results. Be open minded, experiment and see if there is a more efficient way of doing things. Just because you haven’t done something before it doesn’t mean it is not possible. How do you think niche markets are found?
Smiling -you will be surprised how powerful a smile can be. What is more powerful is that a smile does not have to be seen to have full effect. If you are on the phone, try smiling it will change the whole tone of your conversation.
Not criticizing, but being constructive -If a team member or a colleague does something wrong don’t criticise them. Instead, explain what they have done and help them identify the error by suggesting ways that it could be improved in the future.
Pay compliments where possible -I am not talking about telling the lady in the coffee shop she has a nice bum! What I mean is if somebody does something well let them know about it. It can really transform people and help develop a positive working attitude.
More Listening, less talking. Be interested in other people. Life is full of people who want to tell their story but one of the key habits of successful people is having the ability to listen to others.
Avoid gossip. If you are diligently working towards the success of your business then realistically you will not have time for gossip anyway. Cheap talk is something that will not bring you admirers or success in the long run. Stick to being positive.

The more you give; be it a kind word, a piece of advice, or simply an ear to listen – the more people will think of you and associate you with positive thoughts.

A fundamental concept in the accumulation of wealth by any means is to secure the co-operation of other people who are able to assist you with the particular plan you have in mind to attain your financial goals. The necessary people will not seek you out themselves and offer themselves to you; you will have to find them yourself and offer them an attractive deal. Negative attitudes and negative thinking will not achieve the result you need. This will instead repel people wherever you go.
A positive personality attracts people and raises the spirit of those around them. People feel good in the presence of positive personalities. If you want to attract people to you and your business and keep them there -have a positive working attitude!
